Course Description
This blended course is designed for CCNA and CCNP level
professionals wishing to become more expert in VoIP
through a single course. The course builds in
complexity so both VoIP and Call Manager solutions are
fully understood whilst maximizing skills that will be
transferred.
Upon successful completion of the course delegates will be able to:
- Understand VoIP terminology
- Define the advantages and limitations of VoIP
- Understand the Cisco hardware used in different environments
- Understand the relationship between CODEC choice, payload size, and transmission bandwidth
- Describe the voice quality problems inherent in transmitting voice over a packet network.
- Configuring Voice Ports and Dial Peers
- Configuring Routers for Voice Over Frame Relay
- Configuring routers for Voice over IP
- Configure network wide quality of service (QoS)
- Define and list benefits of Call Manger cluster and deployment options
- Install the Cisco Call Manager components
- Describe the various IP phone models and list their features
- Configure Cisco Call Manager to support IP Phones
- Identify and configure Catalyst Switches used in CIPT solutions
- Describe how gateways fit into the CIPT design
- Configure a basic route plan
- Configure a Call Manager Class of Service
- Configure Call Manager Media resources
- Configure Call Manager features
- Add a user to Call Manager and configure user options
- Configure Call Admission control and SRST
- Configure Cisco Web Attendant
- Configure Extension Mobility
- Utilise the Bulk Administration Tool
- Describe how to use the internal server tools to troubleshoot Call Manager problems
Course pre-requisites:
Delegates are required to meet the following prerequisites:
- Familiarity with Cisco IOS
- A working knowledge of LANs, WANs, and IP switching and routing is essential which can be obtained by completing the Cisco CCNA course
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft windows
