The Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification demonstrates a competency in administering, deploying and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or developing business process and integration solutions using BizTalk Server 2006.There are two options.
- Microsoft Certified Technology Specialists in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (MCTS: SQL Server 2005)
- Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 (MCTS: BizTalk Server)
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialists in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (MCTS: SQL Server 2005) implement and maintain databases and can demonstrate that they have an in depth knowledge of the SQL Server 2005, understanding how to use the tools and Transact-SQL language.
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 (MCTS: BizTalk Server)
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialists in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 (MCTS: BizTalk Server) can demonstrate an in depth understanding of the design and development of distributed applications that use BizTalk Server 2006.
MCITP
The Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification demonstrates an expertise in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 administration or application development.There are three available tracks:
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Database Developer (MCITP: Database Developer)
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Database Administrator (MCITP: Database Administrator)
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Business Intelligence Developer (MCITP: Business Intelligence Developer)
This is a certification aimed at SQL Server 2005 database designers and developers. This certification demonstrates an expertise in designing a secure and stable database solution with Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Database Administrator (MCITP: Database Administrator)
This is a certification aimed at SQL Server 2005 database server administrators. This certification demonstrates that you can provide a reliable and fully available SQL Server solution.
Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Business Intelligence Developer (MCITP: Business Intelligence Developer)
This is a certification for business intelligence system designers and developers. This certification demonstrates that you can design and implement data marts, data warehouses and implement the necessary data transformations, analysis and reporting services that go along with such environments.
