Do you offer consultancy services?

We most certainly do. We offer consultancy services in all things data, from data strategy consultancy through to BI consultancy. We also offer a [blended training and consultancy service](https://www.ptr.co.uk/blended-learning-consultancy-services-bi-solutions) providing coaching, mentoring and support to work with your team developing their skills and helping them to apply them in your environment.

Where are your consultants based?

Our in-house team of full-time consultants are all based in the UK, with our offices and training centre based in Wokingham, just outside Reading. The vast majority of our delivery work takes place remotely, taking full advantage of cloud based technologies to provide the most flexible service possible. We do also love to get out and meet people in person though, and are very happy to join you onsite at your own premises as requirements suit.

Where will my course be run?

Wherever works for you! We can come to a venue of your choice, or we'd love to welcome you to our training centre in Wokingham, just outside Reading. Alternatively, all of our courses can be delivered remotely via Teams, Zoom, etc. and make use of our virtual classroom environment. Talk to our team to discuss what would be the best delivery option for you.

How many people can attend a closed course?

Typically, our closed courses are suited for groups of up to 8. If you have larger groups than this, please give us a call to discuss your requirements and the best options for you.

When will I receive joining instructions

Joining instructions are typically sent out to each course attendee 2 weeks prior to the course start date, or immediately if booking within this time.

How does the virtual classroom work?

Our virtual classroom provides delegates with access to a browser based virtual lab environment through which our instructors can interact with and provide support for all course participants. The classroom also provides access to guided learning materials, shared whiteboards, and code snippets that may be worked on throughout the class, and students are able to take away their work files from the course for further study after the course ends.

Prepare for the Future: SQL Server Certification Updates and Training

The traditional SQL Server Development and Administration exams and certifications are being retired at the end of January (31/01/2021). A full list of all certifications and exams recently retired or scheduled to retire can be found here.

Although from February 2021 there will be no exams associated with curriculum areas such as SQL Database Querying and TSQL Programming they are very much pre-requisites for many of the new tracks. SQL remains a vital language for data extraction from operational relational databases and data warehouses.
